Yard Registry continuously reconciles Jamaica's commercial layer into a canonical record graph. As of methodology v1.2, the registry ingests from 22 institutional sources: 12 named publicly as anchor sources (below), and 10 additional regulators, registries and industry bodies that contribute records but are not surfaced individually on the landing page. Every fact tied to a canonical Yard Registry entity carries source attribution.
Yard Registry is an independent commercial intelligence platform. It is not a government agency. We organize publicly available records and business signals — we do not imply official endorsement. If a record is wrong, request a correction and we will review it.
Tier A — Public anchor sources. Named individually on the landing page. Selected for institutional recognizability and source diversity (government registries, regulators, industry associations, public markets, open data, hiring). The goal is for any reasonable Jamaican observer to recognize each Tier A name without explanation.
Tier B — Additional institutional sources. Real contributors to the canonical graph that are not surfaced on the landing page for either editorial reasons (the landing page caps the visible list at 12) or because the source is narrower in scope. Tier B sources are fully counted in the institutional total and named here.
Tier C — Operational. Manual CSV imports, archived experimental feeds, and internal data. Not counted as institutional sources because there is no public provider to cite. These contribute to internal totals only.
Every ingestion run honors robots.txt. Only six fields are stored per record:
name, category, phone, address/parish, website URL, and source attribution. 403 or 429 responses
cause immediate termination with no retry. No paid APIs. No full-page scraping. No cookies, no
tracking, no behavioral data. Source dossiers (one per source) document license, refresh cadence,
and ingestion methodology.
